Holidays

During the second week of the Christmas holidays, we will be able to profit from our children and be happy to spend family time with them during Christmas, but in the meanwhile, there is a long week from December 17th to 24th. The children need to be intelligently occupied. Here are three or four general ideas...

During the winter high season, the Duboeuf family invite children to "Pleasures in Beaujolais" by offering them the entrance to the park devoted to the wine-making world.
Well installed in the former railway station of Romanèche Thorins, it is ideally situated to welcome Santa Claus who has taken up his winter quarters, with his reindeers, in a chalet. Children will also love discovering the old coaches dating back to Napoleon III and the miniature railway circuit that meanders between models of Lyon, Paris et Marseille.

Frankly luxurious, but well thought out: the week-end at Villa Augusta in Saint Paul Trois Châteaux. This beautiful house which secured the services of the famous chefs of Montpellier, the Frères Pourcel, who elaborated the menu, also proposes quite original parent-child trips.
For one or two days, they welcome a family to introduce the children to gastronomy. No steak and chips here! To get rid of the simple idea of elaborating a «children-menu», the Chef Julien Gleizé and Cyril Freyssac, his pastry assistant, improvise according to the menu and depending on the young guests' age.
At this period of the year, a visit to the nearby crocodile farm is included in the fixed price.

More conventional, but every bit as exciting for the children, is to go horse-riding in the Drôme in this cooler season or to profit from a snow trip for 6-14 years old at Domaine des Charmottes in Rousset en Vercors, with ski, huskies, trappers...
All that will make them feel tired, and then, coming back home, they will easily fall asleep during Christmas Eve and won't surprise Santa Claus during his distribution of gifts around the Christmas tree!
