The Contemporary Art Biennial of Lyon sets up along the river banks

For this 9th edition it is about «the History of a decade which is not named yet ". It is about the very gist of contemporary art and biennial events whose mission - accomplished for thirty years - seems to be the updating of the current events of art.

The artists are invited to write a book of history. It is conceived as a big game which takes place only once: a sort of inquiry in which sixty interpreters, from all over the world intervene, and whose mission is to produce the living substance of archaeology of the present. They represent so many universes to be discovered.

Regarding this, it is advisable to use the permanent Pass formula which allows access to all exhibition spots, without limits, in order to be impregnated with the evolution of the message rather than to limit oneself to a single visit.

As three of these places are situated on river banks, one of the charms of the exercise will be to reach them by the river shuttles especially organized for the event.

 

You should not miss the eighty events of the program "Résonance 2007", which covers the whole field of creation around the main exhibition and in other places.

Dance, performance, cinema, theatre, photography, video, installation, design, music or literature... With, in highlight, the "Nuit Résonance", star of the Inter-professional Congress of Contemporary Art in Lyon, with private viewing days and evening gallery openings, concerts, performances and night wanderings.

Also the "Art sur la Place": a meeting between artists and disadvantaged public who have been working together for seven months.
