Beaujolais
Updating : 24/10/2007
Every year, the Beaujolais Nouveau period, is the occasion to observe this surprising vineyard planted in landscapes of such staggering beauty and which produces a festive wine* which stands out from all the others. It is also the occasion to meet the people who cultivate this soil. At the moment, it turns out that it is the women who are the famous Stars in Beaujolais.

On the third Thursday of November, the Beaujolais Nouveau will be on all the tables and, more specially, in bars and restaurants of Lyon and its region, but also in Paris. There is no question, of course, of missing the feast on
any account.
It is also the occasion to meet twelve women, all of whom are wine growers each one symbolizes one of the twelve vintage wines of the Beaujolais.
The idea to group together germinated in the mind of one of them, Chantal Pegaz, famous lawyer and fascinated by wine, so much so that she specialized in Vineyard and Wine Law. She is the owner of a domain which produces the Côte de Brouilly and which was always passed on by women.

It is the case also for Christiane Dutraive, a Parisian who fell in love with the family son when she came for the Brouilly grape harvests. Today it is her elder daughters who are animated, like her, by the same passion for wine.
All these stars come from varied horizons, but each has a strong formation, Chantal Zimmermann, agricultural technician, had been living in Paris previously, Anke de Boissieu, is a Dutch woman, polyglot and who has a diploma in Art history, but henceforth also in oenology.

There is Cécile Roux, pioneer of the Régnié appellation (the latest); Céline Méziat the president who was born in Chiroubles; Joëlle de Lescure who left financial management and mathematics for the Fleurie; Thérèse Perrot who now dedicates herself full-time to the Chenas of the domain.
And also Ferréole Chastel who holds simultaneously four passions: her eight children, horses, choral singing and the Moulin à Vent; Claire David who shares her time between the Juliénas vintage wine and her workshop for the creation of costumes and Nicole Lassagne who abandoned her professional activity in an airline company, for the love of Saint-Amour. Stars that have branches!
