As already mentioned right here, Snowshoe hikes are quite trendy, and one week trips or week ends, to discover nature, forest, animals' tracks, etc. are being proposed in increasing numbers. Even trendier, are nights spent in an igloo. On arrival, you spend the first night in the hotel and you leave the next morning with snowshoes, sealskins, cross-country skis and a most appropriate picnic ("beaufort" and "reblochon" cheeses, cooked pork meat, fruits...) then, in the evening you join the igloo to spend the night.

Some of the tours even propose that the participant cut their own snow blocks and also teach them how to give the igloo the right curve to obtain a lovely little round house and which above all, does not fall in on its occupiers! Something no-one could do themselves without the correct technique!
With a good self-pumping air-mattress and a special sleeping bag for extremely cold temperatures (that you can also hire), we are all set. Then we only have to enjoy the exceptional night surrounded by the forest's whispers and the animal noises.

Everyone contributes to preparing dinner and breakfast in a convivial atmosphere and you obviously have to leave your requirements for comfort down in the valley. Otherwise, this kind of experience is open to everyone and to children from 12 years old, but some trips propose the same nature discovery trip on snowshoes, with a night spent in a mountain refuge (a permanent structure with a stove or even a central heating).
There are some who say, that for lovers, the experience is just as good as a night in a palace with a King-size bed. They're not wrong!
