Diving pleasures in Lake Geneva

This is the advantage of holidays in the mountains! No need to really choose, thus to exclude. During your stay in Avoriaz, you can take full advantage of one of the most successful resorts from a contemporary architecture aspect. Residences dressed all in wood; received the label of great realization of 20th century heritage, in 2003.
 

This pedestrians only resort works like a big holiday camp, with a multitude of activities such as fitness, theatre, beach volleyball, mountain bike and all the oxygen sports of the mountains in summer.

But one can also try other adventures such as diving in the Alps' lakes, in this particular case Lake Geneva, which can easily be reached by shuttle between Avoriaz and Thonon.

There are numerous diving spots, some of them with steep cliffs and some others close enough to the edge to allow exploring the lake bed without using a boat, but simply diving from the pontoon.

For your first dive, you won't be taken to admire one of the most beautiful remains of the lake; that of l'Hirondelle sunk in very deep water, but you will discover those of fishermen's boats where whelks, sea horses, chars, perches, pikes, burbots and crayfishes swim around.

Here as in the sea, silence is total and one can savour, quite gently, moments of absolute peace. In winter, Jean-Claude, David and the other Caméléon instructors propose diving under the ice of Montriond Lake and there, it is exactly the opposite. It is the sky which can be admired through the ice and not the depths. So then, rendez-vous next winter?
