Great musical nights of summer

These two festivals of international fame have a common point. They both take place within Gallo-Roman Theatres, Fourvière and Vienne Saint Romain en Gal. The décor is exceptional with extraordinary acoustics.

The Fourvière Nights whose spectacles are booked out every year (it is necessary to reserve fast) produce this year, exclusively, "Equestrian Partitions", the latest creation of Bartabas, for the opening of the festival and the creation of Fellag, on the small stage of Odéon, reserved for music.

Léonard Cohen makes his come-back in Fourvière after fifteen years of absence from the stage in general; there will also be Marianne Faithfull and a Maurice Béjart Night, with the great Sylvie Guilhem and the Tokyo ballet.

Impossible to miss, «Honest John Revue», a creation of Nacho Duato and Damon Albarn, the Argentinian orchestra of the tango masters.

In Vienne, for the most famous festival of European jazz, it is the come-back of Herbie Hancock and of "monsters" such as Sonny Rollins, Ornette Coleman and the divas of the vocal art.

All around there will be the musical cousins of jazz, with the traditional Nuit du Blues, Gospel, with the Louisianaise Nicole Slack Jones. Vienne will open with Fred Wesley and Pee Wee Ellis, godfathers of instrumental funk and the Nuit de Clotûre "All Night Jazz" will propose an anthology of styles until dawn: 

Claude Bolling's swing with the vibraphone player Dany Doriz will celebrate the hundredth anniversary of Lionel Hampton's birth. As usual, eclectic, hectic and explosive!
