Corrençon : Vercors on the quiet

In March, when Spring puts in an appearance through a thick layer of snow, it is time to take an active interest in all the Nordic ski options.

It begins on Wednesday when children go hiking with snowshoes; they can spend the afternoon with a guide exploring animal tracks. You can listen to the Vercors history and you finish with a snack in a typical mountain refuge. On Sunday the same hike is proposed for a group of 5 people or more.

If the Friday outing is called «Raquettes Enchantées» (Enchanted Snowhoes) it is because it takes place at the end of the afternoon, for children from 5 years old, who take off on an exploration of  the mysteries of the forest, with snowshoes and holding Chinese lanterns.

The adventure ends with a good snack, a little bit late, around 7 p.m., but the night will be better.

Every Sunday,  the ‘townies'  race to the Nordic ski tracks of the resort for a «Glisse Oxygénation» (oxygenation ski) session between 2 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. with a coach who teaches them how to restart their body and to breathe deeply the fresh air of the Vercors Hauts Plateaux. Once again the day ends with a snack beside the wood-burning stove in a typical inn and why not in the "Refuge du Clarion", where the film "Le Papillon" was shot with the actor Michel Serrault.

The apotheosis will be on March 26th, with the «Calcaire Classic» race 11^th edition, a télémark race open to everyone (you just have to know how to ski with one knee in the snow, try it...)  in a very festive and even extraordinary atmosphere
