Antésite : The liquorice which quenches your thirst can also be visited...

Although the famous drink, invented by Noël Perrot-Berton, apothecary in Voiron, is an old Lady, more than one hundred years old, (it dates back to 1898...), it is today quite trendy.

Its incredibly refreshing composition, made from natural extracts of liquorice and plants, with no trace of alcohol or sugar, is quite in the spirit of the moment since it is precisely what we are looking for now, where we are concerned both with health and the desire to enjoy products with a strong character.

Undoubtedly, the Voiron area has the cult of secrets. The Antésite one is jealously guarded, following the example of the one of the liqueur of the Chartreux monks which is produced not too far away.

With the success which has always been maintained and the prospect of new products which amateurs are impatient to discover, the company has created the «Secrets d'Antésite» to enable the public to discover everything about the history of the company, the manufacturing processes of this small factory, expert in aromatic liquorice extraction.

The reception hall and the shop have been installed in the restored former carpentry. A little bit further on, the past history of the brand is explained with a video film, holography, reconstitution with dynamic sound effects and, in the old room of the 1920's, the progression of the extraction process. A guide is always present, available to visitors and ready to answer any questions.

Of course, the visit ends with a tasting-session, and at the same time you will discover all the products of the brand: the «Concentré Antésite» with anise, lemon, cola, orange, mint or tea; the newest creations, such as: the «Tsaoté», green teas without sugar and with bergamot orange and liquorice, to be drunk iced, along with the extracts, aperitifs without alcohol and Noirot and Jaume cocktail bases, which were revived by Antésite in 1990.
