Ride

It is in the massif du Pilat that Pierrick Exertier elaborates his mountain biking tours. A tremendous playground for his association Sambala et Baobab. Expert or novice, everybody is entitled to cycle with him. The only condition, it is to have a minimum of endurance. Get into the saddle!

The "sambala", it's him! A word in fact which means "journey guide" in Senegalese language. But by following Pierrick, it is on the crests of the massif du Pilat and on its rhodanien side that you will ride. Before any thing, he will teach you to tame the cycle like a racehorse.
And thus, one will realize that this pleasant charger does many things instead of its "rider". Gears for example, which allow climbing without forcing; then the technique; to come down without fear and without opposing the mechanics and the laws of the physics.

Which enables you to make light of difficulties, while you are riding on muddy and sloping paths or on a former Roman way.
You go through the Melissol woods, forests of fir trees and beeches and there you will notice that nature has taken back its rights and you can fully profit from the landscapes and from the environment. Then as you become bolder and ask for more, the "sambala" finds the itinerary.
And thus the sweet and bucolic ride of the beginning can very well change to the enduro hard-line. With, for example, a departure from Grenouze pass, a pleasant steep little climb up to the Monnet Mountain and a return to Condrieu, along the terraced vineyards.
Or, this ride of forty kilometres with 2 000 metres of difference in height, between the Crêt de la Perdrix, Saint Julien Molin Molette, the Crêt de l' Oeillon and Maclas. Enough to flirt with one's limits. Nobody is obliged to perform; everything is possible in the world of Sambala
