Coolness
Updating : 21/06/2007
Taking advantage of bathing in cool water, in the middle of nature and in the mountains, is a thousand times more pleasant than diving into the most spectacular of swimming pools. Let us leave for Savoie and Haute-Savoie, for a meeting with large areas of pure water.

What do you prefer oxygen or chlorine when it comes to regenerating bathing water? Lovers of large mountain lakes do not even ask the question! Rhône-Alpes lodges at the foot of its mountains the first four lakes of France, Lake Geneva, Lac du Bourget, Annecy lake and Lac Aiguebelette, more than nine hundred thousand swimmers take advantage of pure waters and beaches of fine sand or pebbles.
Would you say chilly? Not necessarily and then so much the better, at a time when scorching summers multiply. It is however, necessary to know that Aiguebelette Lake, the third biggest of France's natural lakes, allows bathing in waters whose temperatures rise to 28°C, in summer. Not bad!

In addition, the purity of the waters is assured by a policy of particularly active environmental conservation. More than seventy hectares of classified and protected natural zones - reed area, swamps, meadows, wet forest areas and aquatic herbariums - are next to the lake.
Moreover, only sailing boats and electric motor engines are allowed to navigate. On site, one can bathe but also practise all sorts of nautical activities and one can evoke Mandrin, the famous smuggler and Frédéric Dard, the father of San Antonio who stayed here in his
holiday home.
In Combloux, one can bathe in transparent water, fed by a waterfall and renewed thanks to the active presence of water plants. In the heart of the summer, the temperature rises to 26 °C thanks to the sun which warms the water, whereas the altitude is more than 1 000 metres high, with the Mont Blanc range in view. It is the only biotope water pool in France. Rushes, reeds, Forget-me-nots and water lilies assure the regeneration and the purity of the water. No need to clarify the composition on the label; here everything is fabulously natural.
